1. Data controller

Pietro Soli, Danish business registration (CVR) no. 43040383, is the data controller for the processing of personal data on this website. Enquiries about data protection can be sent to hi@thelifeofpiet.com.

2. What data we process

When you join the waitlist: your e-mail address, the time of signup, a random identifier stored in your browser so we can recognise a returning visit, and, if you arrived through a link with campaign tags, which link that was.

If you tick the optional box for market notes: a record that you gave that consent, when, and from which page.

When you become a paying member: your e-mail, Discord username, subscription status and payment status. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.

When you contact us by e-mail: your name, e-mail address and the content of your message.

3. Purpose and legal basis

We use your waitlist e-mail to tell you when the app is released or a seat is available (steps prior to a contract, GDPR art. 6(1)(b)). We send market notes only to people who have ticked the optional box (consent, art. 6(1)(a), and Danish Marketing Practices Act §10); you can withdraw consent at any time through the unsubscribe link in every e-mail. Membership data is processed to perform the subscription agreement (art. 6(1)(b)) and to meet the Danish Bookkeeping Act (art. 6(1)(c)). Enquiries are answered on the basis of our legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f)).

4. Data processors and recipients

We use Vercel (hosting), Resend (e-mail delivery and mailing lists), Stripe (payments) and Discord (the members' community) as data processors or independent controllers. Some of these providers process data in the United States; transfers are based on the EU Commission's adequacy decision (EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or standard contractual clauses (SCC).

5. Retention

Waitlist e-mails are deleted no later than 12 months after the last contact or when you ask us to. Consent records are kept for as long as the consent is active and 2 years after it is withdrawn, to document it. Membership and invoicing records are kept for 5 years in accordance with the Danish Bookkeeping Act.

6. Cookies and local storage

This website sets no tracking cookies. It stores a random visitor identifier and any campaign tags in your browser's local storage so we can attribute signups; this data is not shared with advertising networks. If we enable product analytics later, it will be cookie-free and described here.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, and the right to restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You can withdraw consent at any time. Write to hi@thelifeofpiet.com to exercise a right.

8. Complaints

You can complain about our processing of personal data to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet), Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby, via datatilsynet.dk.
